Dr. James Worriax, MD
Dr. Worriax is originally from Pembroke, North Carolina. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, which is where he met Jessica, his wife of 17 years. Together they have two wonderful children - their daughter Jayden and their son Jacob.
After graduation from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Worriax completed his residency training in family medicine at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. He has over 12 years of experience in family medicine.
Dr. Worriax is also very involved in ministry. He has furthered his education at the North Carolina College of Theology, receiving both an Associate’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. He serves as both the Executive Pastor & the Youth Pastor for the Sanctuary of Wilmington.
Mrs. Jessica Lloyd FNP-C
Mrs. Jessica is passionate about helping others and has served as a Registered Nurse for fifteen years. She is diversified with experience in Emergency Care, Outpatient Surgery, Specialties Clinics, and Home Health Case Management.
In 2014, Jessica returned to college to further her knowledge earning a bachelor’s degree. She continued her studies at Chamberlain College and successfully completed the Family Nurse Practitioner program in April 2019. She graduated with honors and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society and certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Jessica seeks to delivers unparalleled service and patient experience as a motivator, educator, and partner to her patients in their journey to health and well-being. She believes in the power of preventative medicine and the positive outcomes that occur when the provider and patient have a personalized working relationship. As a member of the Star Medical Team she is committed to providing exceptional service and compassion to the members of her community.
Jessica is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and relocated to Jacksonville in 2018. Jessica is a proud wife of an active duty Navy husband of seven years.
Mr. William (Bill) Fossett FNP-C
Mr. William “Bill” Fossett, FNP-C
Mr. Fossett is from Wilmington, NC. He graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Nursing from UNCW. He began his nursing journey working at NHRMC caring for cardiac patients before becoming a traveling nurse working at facilities across North and South Carolina. He gained a passion for healthcare that provided him with the desire to become a nurse practitioner so he could do more to promote the health of his patients. He continued his nursing education by completing a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. Once completing this program, he became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Mr. Fossettt enjoys spending time with his daughters and granddaughter in Wilmington, getting out on the waterway in the boat, and riding his Goldwing on country roads with his daughter.
Ms. Ashley Brimmer FNP-C
Mrs. Ashley Brimmer is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Ashley spent over 8 years in the healthcare field as a registered nurse in a variety of settings to include critical care, home health, and case management. She has developed a solid knowledge base through her work and clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, pediatrics, and women’s health.
Ashley’s mission is to provide safe, effective, and quality medical care to those throughout the lifespan. As a native to southeastern North Carolina, she is committed to serving our community through the integration of evidence-based practices and comprehensive patient education. Ashley also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from East Carolina University. She is a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. Ashley is very passionate about Primary Care and looking forward to being apart of the Star Medical Team.
Mr. Donald Crawford FNP-BC
Mr. Donald Crawford is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who graduated with his Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Donald practiced as a Registered Nurse for 14 years having experience working within surgical services, emergency medicine, and oncology. Donald is a member of the American Nurses Association and American Association of Nurse Practitioners. He is also a member of the Nu Omega Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and holds NP certifications through both the ANCC and AANP. Donald’s primary goal is to serve our patients at Star Medical with dignity, compassion, and respect while providing quality patient centered care.
Frank Lovato, PA
Mr Lovato, a former army special forces medic, has joined our practice with over 30 years experience as a Physician Assistant.
He is an Army-trained Physician Assistant who graduated in 1982, well versed in Military Medicine and the medical needs of the military community.
Mr Lovato has been married for 41 years, with four children and has a strong background in family medicine, urgent care and occupational health .
Mrs. Regina Yost FNP-C
Mrs. Regina Yost is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a background in Emergency and Urgent Care medicine. A native of Onslow County, Regina began her nursing career locally with an Associate of Science in Nursing at Coastal Carolina Community College. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Mount Olive and her Master of Science in Nursing from University of South Alabama. Regina graduated with honors with each degree and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing.
Regina is excited to bring her knowledge base and compassion together to provide patient centered care for the families in her local community. She prides herself in the relationships that she builds with her patients and their families, and she enjoys celebrating with patients when they reach their healthcare goals. In her free time, Regina enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. They enjoy traveling and large family gatherings. Regina is thrilled to be a part of the team at Star Medical and looks forward to building relationships with the families of Onslow County
Mrs. Cathy Mitchell FNP-C
Mrs. Cathy Mitchell FNP-C a New provider to our growing clinic. Mrs. Cathy Mitchell is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Cathy has a 10-year background of critical care nursing experience. She is a graduate of both North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and the University of South Alabama with her Masters of Science in Nursing both with honors. Cathy is a native of Lexington, NC, but she has always had ties to the Jacksonville community where she now resides with her husband and their son.
Cathy is a member of several organizations including Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority Inc.
When Cathy is not caring for patients, she can be found training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or cheering on her two favorite athletes, her husband and son. She is not only a sports fan, but also a world traveler, music lover, and fan muscle cars.
Cathy looks forward to serving our community and providing holistic care to all of patients and their families.
Mrs. Tamara Marshall FNP-BC
Mrs. Tammy Marshall grew up in Wayne County, NC and now resides in Wilmington, NC. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who graduated with a Master of Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Tammy has 22 years nursing background in emergency medicine.
She is an active member of the American Nurses Association and board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is also a member Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and North Carolina’s Nurses Association.
Tammy also enjoys volunteering for medical missions and plans to remain involved as a national and international volunteer to provide medical services and health education to people in undeserved communities and underdeveloped countries.
Tammy is excited about joining the team of health care professionals at Star Medical Clinic and will provide holistic, competent and compassionate care with an emphasis on patient education and health promotion. She also plans to become involved in the community by volunteering for activities aimed to improve the overall health of its residents

Mr. Scyoc has been a part of the Medical Field for over 15 years. Mr. Scyoc started in his career as a member of clinical staff and quickly advanced to the role of Clinical Supervisor and finally the Practice Manager of two urgent and primary cares. Mr. Scyoc completed his studies at St. Augustine College with his degree. Since then, he has become certified in many areas of health care. Mr. Scyoc believes in higher education for all and helps promote that to his staff and patients. Mr. Scyoc is a member POMAA , Physician Office Managers Association Of America & Urgent care Association of America where he became certified and credentialed. He was also recently honored and recognized by Trademark Who’s Who as a leading professional for demonstrating outstanding dedication, commitment and courage. Mr. Scyoc strives to uphold the highest standards of care for the healthcare profession. Mr. Scyoc believes in Primary & Urgent Care Clinic mission statement "Where patients are our #1 concern" . We are very happy to have Mr. Scyoc as our Chief Executive Officer and now with him at the helm we will grow and give the best quality of care possible.

Mrs. Scyoc-Thornton comes to us with over 25 years’ experience in the medical field. She started her career with OMH in Jacksonville NC were she was a floor nurse for many years until she moved into management for the hospital. After 18 years with OMH She felt it was time to get back to what she loves and that is primary care, for the past few year she has been working for private primary care clinic’s as part of their clinical staff and management team.

Mrs. Amber Jarvis started her career in the medical field as a CNA work with the elderly as a assisting living facility. Mrs Jarvis decide to go back to school for billing and coding and got her degree in medical billing. She also went back to school to complete a Medical Assistant program and is now Registered with the American Registry of Medical Assistant . Mrs Jarvis loves spending time at home with her husband John and her dog bailey. Mrs Jarvis goal in life is to give the best care she can and to treat all patients like they are family.
