Dr. James Worriax, MD
Dr. Worriax is originally from Pembroke, North Carolina. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, which is where he met Jessica, his wife of 17 years. Together they have two wonderful children - their daughter Jayden and their son Jacob.
After graduation from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Worriax completed his residency training in family medicine at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. He has over 12 years of experience in family medicine.
Dr. Worriax is also very involved in ministry. He has furthered his education at the North Carolina College of Theology, receiving both an Associate’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. He serves as both the Executive Pastor & the Youth Pastor for the Sanctuary of Wilmington.
Mrs. Jessica Lloyd FNP-C
Mrs. Jessica is passionate about helping others and has served as a Registered Nurse for fifteen years. She is diversified with experience in Emergency Care, Outpatient Surgery, Specialties Clinics, and Home Health Case Management.
In 2014, Jessica returned to college to further her knowledge earning a bachelor’s degree. She continued her studies at Chamberlain College and successfully completed the Family Nurse Practitioner program in April 2019. She graduated with honors and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society and certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Jessica seeks to delivers unparalleled service and patient experience as a motivator, educator, and partner to her patients in their journey to health and well-being. She believes in the power of preventative medicine and the positive outcomes that occur when the provider and patient have a personalized working relationship. As a member of the Star Medical Team she is committed to providing exceptional service and compassion to the members of her community.
Jessica is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and relocated to Jacksonville in 2018. Jessica is a proud wife of an active duty Navy husband of seven years.

Mrs. Julia Whitaker FNP-C
Mrs. Julia Whitaker is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner from New Orleans, LA and currently residing in Jacksonville, NC with her husband and three children. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Queens University of Charlotte, she served as a nurse for 10 years in the areas of Home Health, Hospice Case Management, and Dialysis. Subsequently, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. Providing healthcare in these settings throughout the country led to Julia developing an expertise in patient education and providing quality, holistic health care to patients. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
In addition to providing holistic healthcare, Julia enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, cooking, and volunteering. She regularly goes on excursions with her family to explore the local area. Julia is excited to join the Star Medical Clinic team in providing excellent primary and urgent care to Jacksonville and the surrounding area.
Frank Lovato, PA
Mr Lovato, a former army special forces medic, has joined our practice with over 30 years experience as a Physician Assistant.
He is an Army-trained Physician Assistant who graduated in 1982, well versed in Military Medicine and the medical needs of the military community.
Mr Lovato has been married for 41 years, with four children and has a strong background in family medicine, urgent care and occupational health .
Mrs. Regina Yost FNP-C
Mrs. Regina Yost is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a background in Emergency and Urgent Care medicine. A native of Onslow County, Regina began her nursing career locally with an Associate of Science in Nursing at Coastal Carolina Community College. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Mount Olive and her Master of Science in Nursing from University of South Alabama. Regina graduated with honors with each degree and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing.
Regina is excited to bring her knowledge base and compassion together to provide patient centered care for the families in her local community. She prides herself in the relationships that she builds with her patients and their families, and she enjoys celebrating with patients when they reach their healthcare goals. In her free time, Regina enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. They enjoy traveling and large family gatherings. Regina is thrilled to be a part of the team at Star Medical and looks forward to building relationships with the families of Onslow County
Ms. Amanda Allison FNP-C
Ms. Amanda Allison has over 11 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She started her career as a corpsman stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. After the Navy, she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Queens University of Charlotte where she went on to work in emergency services. She then earned her Masters Degree at Frontier Nursing University. She graduated with honors in both degrees and is a member of several prestigious organizations including Sigma Theta Tau and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
She is excited to join the Star Medical team and meet the people within this community. Amanda enjoys partnering with her patients to develop and exceed their health care goals. She focuses on health care education and disease prevention keeping the patient’s wishes in mind at every step. Amanda is looking forward to settling back into the Jacksonville area where her career began many years ago
Mrs. Meagan Love PA-C
Mrs. Meagan Love is a board certified physician assistant from Jacksonville, Florida and is currently residing in Jacksonville North Carolina with her husband. She obtained her bachelors of science in Allied health with a concentration in medical Sciences from the University of Tampa in Tampa Florida. After graduation she spent her time volunteering at a free clinic in Jacksonville North Carolina and shadowing physician assistants in the area of Jacksonville North Carolina including Frank Lovato. After 2 and a half years of intense studies, she achieved her Masters in physician assistant studies from South University in Tampa Florida. She then moved to Jacksonville North Carolina to be with her husband and to begin her career. Meagan passed her national certification exam in April 2020 and began seeking a career in urgent care. She is a member of the American Academy of physician assistant.
In addition to providing expert patient care, she enjoys spending her time outside at the beach with husband and her 4 year old Golden retriever Sami. She also enjoys competitive sports and activities.

Mr. Scyoc has been a part of the Medical Field for over 15 years. Mr. Scyoc started in his career as a member of clinical staff and quickly advanced to the role of Clinical Supervisor and finally the Practice Manager of two urgent and primary cares. Mr. Scyoc completed his studies at St. Augustine College with two associate Degrees. Mr. Scyoc also graduated from Penn Foster College With a Bachelor's Of Science In Business and Healthcare management. Since then, he has become certified in many areas of health care. Mr. Scyoc believes in higher education for all and helps promote that to his staff and patients. Mr. Scyoc is a member POMAA , Physician Office Managers Association Of America & Urgent care Association of America where he became certified and credentialed. Mr. Scyoc Also has completed Training to me CAOHC Certified as a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC). He was also recently honored and recognized by Trademark Who’s Who as a leading professional for demonstrating outstanding dedication, commitment and courage. Mr. Scyoc strives to uphold the highest standards of care for the healthcare profession. Mr. Scyoc believes in Primary & Urgent Care Clinic mission statement "Where patients are our #1 concern" . Mrs. Patricia Graham
Mrs. Scyoc-Thornton comes to us with over 25 years’ experience in the medical field. She started her career with OMH in Jacksonville NC were she was a floor nurse for many years until she moved into management for the hospital. After 18 years with OMH She felt it was time to get back to what she loves and that is primary care, for the past few year she has been working for private primary care clinic’s as part of their clinical staff and management team.

Mrs. Amber Jarvis started her career in the medical field as a CNA work with the elderly as a assisting living facility. Mrs Jarvis decide to go back to school for billing and coding and got her degree in medical billing. She also went back to school to complete a Medical Assistant program and is now Registered with the American Registry of Medical Assistant Mrs. Jarvis Also has completed Training to me CAOHC Certified as a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC). Mrs Jarvis loves spending time at home with her husband John and her dog bailey. Mrs Jarvis goal in life is to give the best care she can and to treat all patients like they are family.
